My Family & History
Athletics in my family started way back with my great grandfather who ran marathons and placed in the first New York Marathon. Then was my grandfather who first played at Cornell then moved on after graduating to mainly play running back for the "White Plains New York" team in the 1940s. His name was John Medevielle whose nickname was "Gallant Fox" after the quickest race horse at the time. From that point on my parents both were part of many sports and all my immediate family are or have been involved in athletics. My father was in the military, so as a young children, my siblings and I learned great amounts of discipline and respect for others. I played multiple sports in high school and felt that rowing is something that I would like to pursue in college. When my road came to going to college with an athletic scholarship, I was faced with hard decisions. I had multiple schools offering me full scholarships to their college and I chose The University of Alabama who was giving me half the amount as the others.
Alabama Crew Club
I have been honored to be able to serve as the Head Coach for the Alabama Crew Club starting this fall.
Daystar Family Church
I have had a great opportunity to serve and be part of this church. I have been mentored by a lot of the staff and members of this church. I have also had the opportunity to give back as well by mentoring high school and college age girls. I was able to help teach Sunday school, be part of the choir, dance and drama teams as well. I had an amazing opportunity to intern with the pastors and staff of Daystar in the 2012 Spring semester. I was able to help with leadership and communication within the office as well as outside. I helped with preparing media and publications for the church congregation. I have had such an amazing time with this church and consider the people there family.
